Court Dismisses Evans’ ₦300m Human Rights Suit.

A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Tuesday, dismissed a ₦300 million Fundamental Right Enforcement suit, filed by suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans.

Evans had challenged his detention for 11 days, before a charge was preferred against him.

The court, presided by Justice Abdulazeez Anka, dismissed the suit for lacking merit.

Evans, through his lawyer, Olukayode Ogungbeje, had filed the suit against the Inspector General of Police (IGP) alleging wrongful detention.

Also joined as respondents were the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Commissioner of Police (COP) Lagos State and the Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). In the suit, Evans, had urged the court for an order, directing the police to charge him to court immediately or release him on bail.

Evans had also alleged that he was subjected to media trial during his arrest.

Ogungbeje had argued that Evans’ detention since June 10 to 22, 2017 without being charged to court was a violation of his client’s rights as enshrined in sections 35 (1) (c) (3) (4) (5) (a) (b) and 36 of the Constitution.

However, the police through its counsel, Emmanuel Eze, had urged the court to discountenance Evan’s application, and dismiss same accordingly for lacking in merit. Eze added that no infraction was committed against the applicant.

Delivering judgment in the suit, Justice Anka held that Ogungbeje was unable to argue his case based on Section 35 and 36 of the constitution. The judge also ruled that the decision of the police to detain Evans from June 10, till June 22, 2017, was reasonable, as the police had showed that it had an order to that effect.

On the allegation of subjecting the applicant to media trial, the judge held that no law forbids the media from carrying out its constitutional duty. Consequently, Justice Anka held that suit could not succeed and accordingly, dismissed same.

Porn Star August Ames Dies At 23, Allegedly Commits Suicide After Cyber Bullies Attack Her On Twitter.

August Ames, a rising star in the adult film industry, reportedly died Tuesday in California. She was 23.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed her death.

The outlet reports that her cause of death is currently unknown, but friends suspect it was a suicide, as Ames was prone to depression.

Law enforcement sources said she was pronounced dead at the scene, and there was no indication of foul play.

She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me,” her husband, director Kevin Moore, told industry trade magazine Adult Video News (AVN), which first reported news of her death. “Please leave this as a private family matter in this difficult time.”

Ames was born Mercedes Grabowski in Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1994, and worked in a bar and at a tanning salon before joining the adult film industry in 2013, according to AVN.

Throughout her four years in the business, she appeared in more than 270 X-rated films for companies like Evil Angel, Smash Pictures and Lethal Hardcore.

Her popularity had risen steadily since she nabbed a nomination for Best New Starlet at the 2015 AVN Awards; she scored a nomination for Female Performer of the Year in 2016, 2017 and the upcoming 2018 Awards, set for January.

She also had a large social media following, though friends tell The Blast her prominent online presence may have contributed to her death.

Ames’s Twitter feed was littered in recent days with cyberbullies accusing her of being homophobic after she publicly chose not to work with an unidentified actor who had previously shot gay porn.

Shortly after posting the tweet, Ames was forced to defend herself against a flood of online harassers.

A day later, on Dec. 4, she expressed frustration with the criticism.

She defended herself again after a user responded to the tweet urging her to apologize.

Ames was remembered on social media by her fellow porn stars, including Charlie Sheen’s ex-girlfriend Brett Rossi.

“A beautiful life is GONE because people like to use their ‘fan base’ to bully others because THEIR opinion doesn’t agree with YOURS,” she wrote on Twitter. “RIP to a sweet, kind, soul…I’m so sad & so angry. A life wasted simply because HER opinion didn’t mesh with YOURS.”

Added Anikka Albrite, “My heart is broken for my industry sister. People are cruel and depression is a bitch. Please be good to each other. #RIPAugust.”

David Otunga Wins Custody of His Son From His Ex Fiancee Jennifer Hudson

David Otunga has had himself a huge win as he now has primary custody of his son David Jr.

After breaking up with Jennifer Hudson because she cheated on him with Gospel Singer Mali Music, she tried to take full custody of the child and had him forcibly removed from their home. Otunga fought back and won.

David Otunga is now back in business with his son, because he’s now the primary custodial parent.

Sources tell TMZ Jennifer Hudson and David reached a temporary custody agreement which gives him custody of 8-year-old David Jr. the majority of the time.

Jennifer is currently in London shooting “The Voice UK” and she’s committed to significant travel to Los Angeles to do “The Voice.”

Apparently they both now acknowledge that he will again become the primary custodial parent, at least until a formal custody agreement is worked out.

Jennifer also voluntarily dropped her order of protection, which prohibited David from having contact with their son or her. She admits that the order of protection was bogus and just was her way at trying to get back at Otunga even though she was the one who has been accused of cheating.

Otunga in no shape, form or fashion caused her or her son any harm.  To have the police show up and remove Otunga from the home hoping he would cause a scene to help her smear his name is as low as one can get. However, he didn’t take the bait and handled things in a professional way.

Back in 2016, Hudson explained why she wasn’t in a rush to get married even though Otunga wanted to get married. She also pointed out how Otunga saved her life.

On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 35-year-old opened up about her nine-year engagement to her fiancé David Otunga, revealing that she doesn’t mind delaying the nuptials. “I’m not in a rush,” she tells the host. “He ain’t going nowhere.”

Hudson later credited Otunga with saving her life, noting that she would have been in the Chicago home with her mother and brother had she not flown to Florida to visit Otunga.

This promises to be another masterpiece from Brymo as the singer has found himself a niche making enthralling soul music ever since he left Chocolate City.

This will be Brymo’s fifth studio album.

The singer has also announced that he is publishing his first book. This is one to especially look out for as Nigerian acts are not ones to dabble much into intellectual walks, much less publish books.

We are excited to see what 2018 will bring, but seeing as Brymo’s music will be in the mix, one can be sure that there will be a lot of good music to keep us happy.

What is your favourite Brymo song..?
