D’banj finally reacts to Eedris’ claim that he lacks talent

Veteran musician, Eedris Abdulkareem, recently tongue-lashed D’banj, calling him “stupid” to have left Don Jazzy. In the said video, Eedris took some of his younger colleagues to the cleaners while saying D’banj “lacked talent and all he has is ‘razzmatazz’”.

Saturday Beats caught up with the Kokomaster recently and he bared his mind on Eedris’ outburst. He told Saturday Beats that he felt Eedris could have handled the matter in a better way.

The Kokomaster said, “At first, I did not see the video where Eedris spoke about me and initially, I thought it was something else till people sent me the video. I have seen different videos of him talking about different artistes that are young enough to be his kids.

I would have thought that if he was such a role model, there were better ways he could pass his message across but I have nothing against him. I have nothing more to say about him. I feel people just have different ways of expressing themselves.”

The match in Paris clearly showed we had to take immediate action. Hasan Salihamidžić and I met Carlo today for full and frank discussions where we informed him of our decision,” commented FC Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

“I’d like to thank Carlo for his time working with us and I’m sorry about the way it has developed. Hugh Hefner, iconic founder of Playboy, has died at age 91

Hugh Hefner, the iconic founder of Playboy magazine, died at his home, the Playboy Mansion, of natural causes at age 91, Playboy Enterprises said in a statement on Wednesday.
Playboy magazine was founded more than 60 years ago to create a niche upscale men’s magazine, combining images of nude women with in-depth articles, interviews and fiction by a variety of well-known writers.

Hefner reportedly founded the magazine with $600 and another $1,000 borrowed from his mother. The first centerfold, an iconic feature of the monthly magazine, was of Marilyn Monroe.

“My father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer and a leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom,” Cooper Hefner, Playboy Enterprises’ chief creative officer and Hugh’s son, said in the statement.

“He defined a lifestyle and ethos that lie at the heart of the Playboy brand, one of the most recognizable and enduring in history,” the younger Hefner said.

While the magazine managed to both inspire and ride the “sexual revolution” of the 1960s and 70s, in recent years it has struggled in the face of tough competition from the availability of free pornography online.

For a brief period from mid-2016 through early 2017, the magazine experimented with avoiding nudity, before returning to its previous formula.

The statement said Playboy magazine was aimed at more than the market for nude images.

“Hefner took a progressive approach not only to sexuality and humor, but also to literature, politics and culture,” the statement said, calling the “Playboy Interview,” or an extensive discussion between a well-known person and an interviewer, a “standard setter.”

Hefner also led free-speech battles in the U.S., fighting all the way to the Supreme Court after the U.S. Post Office refused to deliver his magazine, the statement noted.

Hefner was survived by his wife, Crystal, his sons, Cooper, David and Marston, and his daughter, Christie, the statement said.

Twitter tests doubling tweet length to 280 characters

Twitter’s defining attribute has long been its brevity: 140 characters in a post and no more. That is now set to change.

Twitter said on Tuesday that it would test extending the text limit of a post on its service to 280 characters. Twitter said the goal was to eliminate what it viewed as constraints that kept people from tweeting more frequently.

One significant barrier, according to Twitter’s internal research, has been the stringent limit on character count.

“When people don’t have to cram their thoughts into 140 characters and actually have some to spare, we see more people tweeting,” Twitter said in a blog post. It is a significant moment for the 11-year-old Twitter, which has been trying to figure out how to change the social media service without alienating the people who have embraced its short format.

The idea of extending the length of Twitter posts has been contentious internally, batted around among product groups that are trying to find ways to persuade people to use the service more frequently. At 328 million users, Twitter has been criticized for its inability to attract more people. Investors have grown nervous, as that slowing of user growth has affected the company’s revenue.

Last year, Twitter tried extending its character count by allowing people to post photos and GIFs without counting them against the overall character limit. It also toyed with longer posts exceeding 140 characters, until criticism from users prompted Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s chief executive, to proclaim that the limit was here to stay. Twitter is now preparing for a backlash from those who might take issue with a 280-character tweet.

“We understand since many of you have been tweeting for years, there may be an emotional attachment to 140 characters,” the company said. “But we tried this, saw the power of what it will do, and fell in love with this new, still brief, constraint.”

The negative reaction was swift, however. A lot of people on Twitter have proclaimed it a “terrible idea”, saying it will water the highly intellectual contents of the platform, making it uninteresting.

Veteran artiste, Timaya, says he once took up abode with an “older” woman who used him “like I was a sex toy”.

Timaya says he was a rebel as a youngster, and that he met the woman one of the times he ran away from home.

According to him, he had to “service” the woman whenever she required sex in exchange for “food and a roof over my head”.

“I learnt that to succeed in life, I had to stay passionate about my dreams, never settle for less and keep working hard every day.

Most importantly, I learnt to believe that God makes everything possible in good time. I have been through a lot of things in life, and if I begin to share my story, you will be shocked,” he told PUNCH.

“I was born into a fairly comfortable family but I was a rebel and I often ran away from home. I once lived in Port Harcourt with a woman who was older than me and she used me like I was a sex toy.

I had to service her whenever she had the urge in exchange for food and a roof over my head. However, I have always dreamed big.

Despite my travails, I never let go of my aspirations while believing that one day, I would make it big.”

When I through where I went to, I called her to ask if she has gone.

She said, Tosin sudden thing happened immediately she drop her number for me, she said she heard a knock of her flat door and she ask who’s there and a man answered and told her that a car is parked and it blocked his way to drive pass that who is the owner of the car, she said she don’t know and those men flashed their gun and pushed her, they said they have been trailing the car and the car parked not long time ago, she cannot do anything than to confess that the owner is living in upstair, They went there to shot the man, he was rushed to hospital but he couldn’t survive it.

Furthermore, The victim is an international man who just arrived Last Month, he has his wife and children in abroad.

The victim actually went to pick his younger brother in MM2 airport this morning where the thief/assassin were trailing him from.

R.I.P Hector Joberteh, The Winner of Season3 Gulder Ultimate Search. (2006).

My Questions are:

If this is a set up, is it encouraging to have Nigerians as friends in abroad?

Is Nigeria an option country to come to after making it in abroad?

Can one come to Nigeria from abroad with confidence?

Is Lagos airport a safe route to pass when coming from abroad?

I’m so sad right now.”

Rest In Peace Hector.
