Elderly Woman Dies In Church After Giving Testimony.

A hairdresser died in the church immediately after giving testimonies before the congregation at Universal Church of God.

The deceased, simply identified as Mpofu attended a church service at Bulawayo area of Zimbabwe where she gave a testimony thanking God for the wonders He had done in her life.

According to reports by B-metro, Mpofu slumped immediately after sharing her testimony and died in the church.

A close relative who asked for anonymity told the media that they were very disappointed and confused as they were not sure if the testimony was the reason behind Mpofu’s death. “It is very sad that our family member died this way. She was someone who was a dedicated church member which now turns to be a surprise that she died in the house which she thought was the safest,” said the relative. “What is more surprising is when all this happened the church did not notify us that she had collapsed choosing to keep her for six hours. We do not know why they kept her in church when they were aware that her condition was critical, that is why we are suspecting foul play,” he continued.

The deceased’s husband left mourners in shock when he asked all church members to leave the funeral. It was clear that he wanted nothing to do with Universal Church members and their pastors.

A pastor who declined to be named said they did not bother attending the funeral as they were not on good terms with Mpofu’s family. Mpofu was buried on Monday.

“People Keep Demanding From Us Celebritie, They Don’t Care How We Meet Their Demands” – Actress Foluke Daramola.

In a chat with Punch Saturday Beats, star actress, Foluke Daramola – Salako, who recently turned 40, talks about living in Nigeria.

Talking about living in Nigeria the actress says it’s difficult task remaining sane in a country like Nigeria and she gave her reasons. “The turbulent thing I have faced especially in a place like Nigeria is that we are practically under pressure as celebrities. People keep demanding things from us and they don’t care how we meet their demands. They put a lot of pressure on me. Being psychologically and emotionally stable in Nigeria for over 40 years has not been an easy task. People see the glamour on the television screen and believe that is how we live in reality. Being psychologically stable despite all odds like living up to expectation, the pressure of living the way you want to and also even differentiating reality from showbiz has not been easy. Those are my turbulent times. A good thing about being a celebrity, however, is that when you are known, you are celebrated and it opens doors for you. Being known gives you a voice when others are struggling to get a voice.”

Talking her previous marriage, She said, “Another turbulent time for me was when I had to leave my first marriage. I would say I left the marriage as a shadow of myself. When I left that marriage, I felt less than myself and I felt the world had come to an end. That was a time in my life that was very turbulent. What I dread most in my life is to have a broken home and I experienced it with my first marriage. So I would say that was a time in my life that was really turbulent. But a very lovely and good time in my life was when I met the man I am married to. It was a wonderful time in my life.”

Missing School Girls: Dapchi Residents Stone Yobe Governor’s Convoy.

The visit of Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, to Dapchi was cut short as angry residents of the town pelted his convoy with stones, Punchng reports.

Boko Haram members had stormed Government Girls Technical College in Dapchi on Monday, but the schoolgirls were said to have fled into the bushes in the area. While some of the girls had been returning to the school, 46 were said to be missing.

The crowd, still at a loss over the whereabouts of the missing schoolgirls, showed their disgust to the governor on Thursday, by throwing stones at his convoy, injuring some of his aides, as well as government officials.

The state government had issued a late night statement on Wednesday, announcing that some of the schoolgirls were rescued. The government in another statement on Thursday, however, said its initial statement was false.

The FG says the number of missing pupils has become a mystery due to the nature of the incident. The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said this when he visited Dapchi, Yobe State.

He said when the terrorists were approaching the school, the principal asked the pupils to run to safety, adding that most of the pupils returned to school the following day, but when a roll-call was conducted, it was discovered that same were yet to return.

He said it was difficult to determine who was missing because the incident happened at night. Mohammed said, “Since the incident happened, the army and other security agencies have swung into action and have been combing every nook and cranny.

So far, we cannot say the number of people that are missing because people are still reporting or calling that they are safe. We will need a few more days so we can give an exact figure of those missing.”

Men of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps have arrested six suspected cult members for allegedly gang-raping three secondary school pupils in the Agarawu area, Lagos Island.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects – Laguda Kamal, Muyideen Aigoro, Kayode Damilare, Quadri Ajayi, Idoogun Yinusa and Yinka Adewuyi – were arrested following an intelligence report.

The victims were said to be Junior Secondary School 3 pupils and identified as Maryam, 15; Sulia, 13; and Alimat, 13.

It was gathered that Damilare, and the gang leader, identified simply as Wakilu,  were assigned by their cult, Eiye Confraternity, to recruit new members – males and females – from secondary schools in the state.

The suspects allegedly forced the victims out of their schools and took them to a hideout in Agarawu, where they initiated them into the gang. They were said to have subsequently took turns to sleep with them.

They reportedly perpetrated the act at the residence of the gang leader, said to be at large.

The Chairman of the LNSC, Israel Ajao, a Deputy Inspector-General of Police (retd.), while parading the suspects on Thursday, said the cult members usually visited the schools of their target victims with weapons. “They would force them to a hideout and then gang-rape them. One of the victims was held for four days. The cat was let out of the bag by a neighbour who reported the matter to the operatives after an alarm by the victim’s mother.

One of the victims, Maryam, in her statement to the corps, said Damilare and Wakilu gang-raped her and Sulia after forcing them to their hideout at gunpoint.

She said, “Dare came to meet me in school with a gun that I should follow him to Agarawu. He said his members were going to initiate me or else he would kill me. “When we got there, they formed a circle and asked me to kneel down in their midst. They tied my face and sprinkled some things on my body. They asked me to undress and raped me countless times for four days.”
