SPORTS: Mohamed Salah Injury Update.

Mohamed Salah could feature at the World Cup, with the Egyptian FA hopeful the Liverpool star’s lay-off will not exceed three weeks.

The forward sustained a suspected shoulder injury during the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev last weekend.

But initial fears that Salah would not recover in time to represent his country in Russia were allayed by the EFA on Wednesday evening.

“[The] Football Federation reaffirms Salah [will play] in the World Cup hopefully and his absence will not exceed three weeks,” it said.

Egypt’s first Group A match at the World Cup is against Uruguay on June 15 before meetings with Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25 respectively.

Salah scored 44 goals in 52 games for Liverpool during his debut season after joining the club from AS Roma last summer.

Pregnant Illegal Immigrant Cow To Be Executed After Wandering Over EU Border.

A pregnant runaway cow from Bulgaria which roamed into neighbouring Serbia, has been condemned to death because she crossed the EU border.

Red cow Penka, due in around three months’ time, wandered westwards away from its herd near the Bulgarian village of Kopilovtsi on May 12, straying over a border checkpoint into non-EU Serbia.

But after it was returned to its owner, Ivan Haralampiev, by a farmer over the frontier, Penka will now be executed because she didn’t have the proper paperwork – despite being given a clean bill of health by Serbian vets.

The motives are that she had left the borders of the EU” and cannot be imported back into the European Union, Haralampiev told public BNT television Thursday as he pleaded for his cow to be saved.

Officials told AFP Thursday that it was not in their powers to save Penka from the EU regulations. “It is not for us to decide. We are only implementing rules that come from Brussels,” vet expert Lyubomir Lyubomirov told AFP.

Zidane Resigns As Real Madrid Boss Days After Winning Historic Treble.

Zinedine Zidane has quit as Real Madrid manager days after he won his third consecutive Champions League title.

Despite being the first and only manager to win the Champions League three times in a row after a 3-1 victory over Liverpool, the club have stuttered domestically.

Zidane oversaw Real’s 2016-17 success in La Liga, but failed to win the league either side of that triumph.

Barcelona, historically Real’s greatest rivals, ran away with La Liga this season and finished 17 points clear of Zidane’s side.

Real Madrid could only finish third on 76 points, and were out of the running for the title early in the season. Pressure had been building on the French manager despite the success in Europe, in a competition that Real are undefeated in over their last 18 games.

His unparalleled success in the Champions League has been unable to shield him from criticism, and there has long been speculation that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been lined up to replace him.

Antonio Conte has been mentioned as he is expected to leave Chelsea this summer.

Zidane may not be the only big-name exit at the Bernabeu. He was non-committal after Gareth Bale said he was considering his future in the Spanish capital.

Cristiano Ronaldo also confirmed he was unsure over his future immediately after the Champions League final.

Real Madrid have been linked with moves for Neymar Jr at Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as part of the rebuilding process due in the summer under president Florentino Perez.

Ex-Soldier Attacks His Girlfriend For Serving Him Undercooked Chicken.

A man beat up his girlfriend so badly that she needed hospital treatment and the reason he gave was that she had undercooked his “chicken Kiev”.

Scott Howell, 32, an ex-Army reserve soldier, attacked Michelle Mundt, also 32, in anger over his dinner at the home they shared with their baby son in Glasgow, a family friend said.

Michell was left with horrendous facial injuries and had to be taken to hospital after the violent assault.

A source close to the family said Michelle had been the victim of abuse for a year before Howell was finally arrested and he was only caught out because Michelle was taken to the hospital.

“If it wasn’t for Michelle’s dad and step mum turning up that day, she may not have left the house alive,” they told the Daily Record. “The fact they saw her in this state was her only escape. His next girlfriend may not be so lucky.”

Howell admitted carrying out the attack on the day he was set to face trial at Glasgow Crown Court. He also pleaded guilty to charges of spitting on a female police officer who turned up to their house in the aftermath of the attack, and of being in possession of a knuckle duster.

Michelle, whose one-year-old son with Howell and daughter from a previous relationship were in the house at the time of the attack. Michelle tried to flee during the attack and she ran into her dad and her step mum outside the family home.

They called the police on the abusive man and he attacked the officer who turned up at their house.

Father Confesses To Defiling His Four Daughters.

A 41-year-old man, Michael Akpan-Isaiah, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly defiling his four daughters.

The minors are aged between two and 17 years. Isaiah, from Akwa Ibom State, allegedly committed the offence between April and May at Borokiri Sand Field, Port Harcourt.

The charge reads: “That you, Michael Akpan Isaiah, sometime in April, 2018, did have unlawful carnal knowledge of (name withheld) without her consent.

That you, Michael Akpan Isaiah, sometime in May, 2018, did have unlawful carnal knowledge of (name withheld) aged 7 years old.” The accused admitted committing the crime, but claimed he was manipulated.

But a Federation of International Women Lawyers (FIDA) representative, Fortune Ada Ndah, dismissed the claims and told the court that he carried out the act in his right senses.

She alleged that the incest had been going on even before the two-year-old he also defiled was born. “The accused has been forcefully sleeping with his daughters for the past three years,” Ndah added.

Chief Magistrate Zinnah Alikor described the act as an abomination, saying it was wicked and devilish. She blamed the mother for encouraging incest by not having a close relationship with her children.

Alikor declined jurisdiction on the charge and ordered that the original case file be sent to the state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice. She ordered the remand of the accused in prison custody and adjourned the matter sine dine.

Addressing reporters after the sitting, Ndah said: “Medical diagnosis conducted on the children showed they have been defiled. FIDA is not happy about this irresponsible act of a man to his daughters. We will ensure the matter is prosecuted to act as a deterrent to others.”

The victims’ mother said she reported to her in-laws when she first noticed the amorous relationship between her husband and their daughters, but lamented that no action was taken. She alleged that her husband threatened and beat her and the children up anytime they complained.
