Christian Bakers Ordered To Pay $135k For Refusing To Make Wedding Cake For Gay Couple.

On Thursday, a judge ruled against two Christian bakers who refused service for a same-sex couple.

Now, according to NBC News, the owners of the now-closed Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery will have to fork over a $135,000 fine for their discrimination.

The incident occurred back in 2013 when Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of the Oregon bakery, refused to make a wedding cake for Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer.

At the time, the Kleins said their religious beliefs wouldn’t allow them to provide a service for the same-sex couple.

However, according to NBC News, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries said that their refusal violated a 2007 state law that protects the rights of the LGBTQ community.

Years later, the couple filed a suit against the bakers for their refusal of service, demanding money for their emotional distress. At the time, a judge ruled in favor of the couple, ordering the bakers to cough up the damages.

However, the Kleins appealed in March of this year. But, on Thursday, nearly five years after the start of the case, the Oregon Court of Appeals denied the bakers’ claim and upheld the 6-figure fine against them.

He Gives Me N100 – Girl, 14, Raped And Impregnated By 70-Year-Old.

A 14-year-old girl raped and impregnated by a septuagenarian ex-soldier, Mr. Shuaibu Ahmed, 70, has revealed that he gave her N100 the first time he raped her, but that she continued to allow the old man sleep with her because he threatened to kill her.

According to Vanguardngr, Ahmed and the victim are neighbours at Ago Tapa area of Ibadan, Oyo State. According to information gathered, the man is said to have taken advantage of many other under-aged girls in the neighbourhood.

The unsuspecting father of the girl was told by a neighbour that his daughter was carrying a five-month-old pregnancy. Speaking with Vanguard, the girl said: “Sometime last year, my sister sent me to Papa Soldier’s house to collect some compact discs for her.

He removed my clothes, underwear and forced himself on me. I tried to shout, but he blocked my mouth and threatened to kill me. After he was through, I saw some whitish substance on me.

It was then he told me he had deflowered me and that I should not tell anybody about it. Since then he has been having sex with me and each time he would warn me and even threaten to kill me.

At times, he will give me N100 or N200. The day he deflowered me, he gave me N100. I was not enticed by money; it was his constant threats that frightened me. I could not tell anyone because I didn’t want to die.

I just finished JSS 1. I had not started menstruation when he first forced me. It was after that encounter I started seeing my period.”

It was learned that the father has reported the case at Mokola Police Station and the suspect will be transferred to the State CID for proper investigation. The father of the girl said all he wants is justice, as he noted that he could not bear the trauma.

Emmanuel Eboue Loses Life Savings, Properties To Wife Following Bitter Divorce.

The name Emmanuel Eboue will not be quickly forgotten especially with Arsenal faithful as he was in the team that represented the club at the biggest stage of club football.

However, the sophisticated, flashy lifestyle usually associated with football players seem to have eluded him after he lost a divorce battle to his wife, Aurelie and got stripped of all his assets.

The Ivorian earned millions during his seven years in England’s top-flight and then more than £1.5million a year at Turkish side Galatasaray but now runs around hiding from cops and bailiffs after being ordered by a judge to transfer his remaining Enfield home to his wife.

“I can’t afford the money to continue to have any lawyer or barrister, Eboue told Mirror.

“I am in the house but I am scared. Because I don’t know what time the police will come.

“Sometimes I shut off the lights because I don’t want people to know that I am inside. I put everything behind the door.

“My own house. I suffered to buy my house but I am now scared.

“I am not going to sell my clothes or sell what I have. I will fight until the end because it is not fair.”

Of the things bothering Eboue, his inability to see his three kids hurts him most.

“I can’t see them and it is hurting me a lot,” he said.

“I was close to my children and ready to do everything for them.

“My two girls have a phone and used to call me. But now it has been two months with no contact.

“I miss my children a lot and I want to see them because it is not fair. It pains me a lot.”

Eboue was supposed to return to the Premier League with Sunderland but the deal fell through and his woes were compounded when he was banned for twelve months by FIFA. He blamed his misfortune on his wife and those who helped manage his finances saying they gave him bad advises.

“I look back and say ‘Emmanuel, you have been naive
why didn’t you think about that before?’ It is hard.

“Very, very hard. The money I earned, I sent it to my wife for our children.

“In Turkey I earned eight million euros. I sent seven million back home. Whatever she tells me to sign, I sign.

“She is my wife. The problems with FIFA were because of people advising me. People who are supposed to care. But it was because of them FIFA banned me.” he said.

Eboue now sleeps on a mattress in the living room floor of a confidante he calls his “sister” while hoping get a chance of working with former club Arsenal or players’ union the PFA.

Apple Sued Over Slowing Down Older iPhones When New Models are Released.

Apple’s admission to slowing down older iPhones isn’t sitting well with one California man … so he’s going after the tech giant on behalf of all his fellow outdated iPhone users.

A new class action suit has been filed by Stefan Bogdanovich, an L.A. man who, like millions of other people, uses an iPhone … but not an iPhone 8. He claims Apple’s tactic of slowing down older iPhone models causes users to suffer — specifically those with the 7 or 7s — and take a hit to their wallets.

Bogdanovich claims Apple’s decision to slow the operation of older phones to save battery life was never requested or agreed upon … and it lowers the value of their phones. He also believes — like many other users — that it’s just a ploy by Apple to get folks to buy the newest iPhone.

He wants Apple to stop slowing down older phones and get some payback for damages.
