Wizkid Wins Best African Act At MOBO Awards 2016


After dominating at the MAMAā€™s Star Boy, Wizkid has added a cap as he beats Mr Eazi , Moelogo, Tekno Miles, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Olamide, Mista Silva, Eugy, Kwamz & Flava to win 2016 MOBO Best International Act Africa.

The “Music of Black Origin” MOBO award is held annually in the United Kingdom to recognize artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music.
Nigerian pop star, Wizkid who scooped three awards at 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards held in South Africa days ago was announced the winner in the category which had Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi and Eyfa as nominees at the #PreMOBOawards2016 show yesterday.

Other award winners announced are:

  • BEST RNB/SOUL – Shakka
  • BEST GOSPEL – Guvna B 
  • BEST JAZZ – Esperanza Spalding
  • MOBO UNSUNG – Alika

The main show will be holding on November 4, 2016 in Glasgow.

    According a report on NAIJ.com, the mother of two and co-founder of Christ Embassy, has remarried.Pastor Anita Oyakhilome(former), who usually uses the normal Anita Ebhodaghe was said to have introduced herself on October 3, 2016, as Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer.

    Ice Prince drops album art cover


    Ice Prince who has officially parted ways with Chocolate City on good terms and boss of his own Super Cool Cats is set to drop his third studio album. 

    The title of the album is ā€œJos To The Worldā€ and itā€™s set for an October release, which happens to be his birthday month.

    The Jos bred rapper has been teasing his third studio album release for quite a while now. He promises a subsequent release of the album track list.

    The album cover art showcase was done on his Instagram page. Ice Prince urges his fans and well wishers to spread the word about the forthcoming album. He also promised his J2TW project will be another classic, he again playfully told fans to guess those featured on the J2TW album. We can be sure of surprising international features.

    Here are five ā€œhappiness hacksā€ that will get you on track in your pursuit of happiness today.
    1. Smile: People smile when theyā€™re happy, but did you know that it can work the other way around too? Studies show that consciously smiling can increase our levels of happiness and reduce stress.

    2. Keep a gratitude journal: One of the best ways to practice happiness is to focus on what is currently good in your life.

Scientists call this the negativity bias. It is the result of our natural flight or fight response, making negative experiences leave stronger impressions on us.

    3. Surround yourself with happy people: While people have a lot of control over their perceived reality, cultivating a positive and happy environment goes a long way to nurture happiness. According to a study conducted by Harvard University and the University of California, happiness is actually contagious. This means your close associations can have a significant impact on your emotional well-being, including how happy you feel.

    4. Identify your purpose: Many 20-somethings struggle to find their fundamental purpose and their lifeā€™s raison dā€™etre. Instead, they may wander from job to job or relationship to relationship without a clear path or vision. Unfortunately, this can land you in a career you donā€™t value and relationships that are unfulfilling.

    5. Unplug: Todayā€™s 20-somethings are part of the mobile generation. For many of us, disconnecting from our phones or devices feels akin to losing a limb. But there may be more serious consequences to our 24/7 reliance on technology.

    Studies show that heavy use of computers and mobile devices can lead to sleep disorders, stress, and mental health issues in young adults. And there is a clear connection between lack of sleep and higher rates of depression in people of all ages.

    According to an exclusive report by both Sahara Reporters and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), twenty-one out of the over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the Boko Haram in 2014 have been freed by the sect.

    Both organisations said a government official, who pleaded anonymity informed them of the latest development.The government official informed them that the girls were picked up by a military helicopter after their release.

    He said a major activity was taking place at Banki, a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon.

    Wizkid Announces New Single featuring Drake


    The cat is out of the bag; Wizkid just tweeted that he and 6god (Popularly Known as Drake) are about to school everybody (see tweet below). As most of you know, Wizkid recently signed a global record deal with Sony Records.

    According to insiders, this single featuring Drake will be the first single off Wizkidā€™s new project. If this new track is sonically close to One Dance, quality wise, and there is no reason to think otherwise considering the track record of both Wizkid and Drake, it can become a huge world record and earn Wizkid another Number ONE single.
